Is there a way to move the center or recenter a model? When I try to model with symmetry in xthe selections are not centered.
…move the Red Cursor in the window of the Modifiers / Edit Mode?

First, Under TOOL: Deformation, press Unify
Your model may rescale itself, but the rotation point will be recentered.
Also, pressing the period or clicking on the Move Icon or the Scale Icon will rescale your model and center it on the canvas.

Giving a quick (or is it double click) to the “move” button off to the right when working in edit mode, will scale and center the active tool to fit in the window.
Unless you mean you want to recenter the axis on part of a mesh that may not be perfectly symmetrical, so you can work more accurately on it in symmetry mode. In this case, you want to hide whatever youre not working on, and hit “set pivot point” off to the right…which will recenter the axis to whatever is visible. You’ll want to hit “clear pivot point” before you export it though, because it will reposition it from the coordinates you originally imported it at .
