Is there a way to keep polypaint of multi mesh inset meshes? [Answered]

so they would be inserted already polypainted?

I don’t think that is currently possible.

Imagine if you could though!
You could insert thousands of pre-made eyeballs into anything you like!

Sorry, I will shut up now.

Actually it’s possible and does work. Sorry for the mess. Just overlooked it initially

LOL…ancient Chinese secret ??

When you create an Insert Mesh with polypaint on it, ZBrush will remember the polypaint info. The trick is to have Colorize off while you are inserting into another mesh. When done inserting, turn Colorize back on and there it is…eyeballs.

zber2,
Thanks for sharing!

So even though zbrush can’t currently retain insertmesh uv mapping, you could retain the texture information, and then just let uvmaster unwrap them, and then be able to insertmesh in other applications.

Does this work with the curve insert mesh as well, so the ends can have seperate textures from center parts?

Not a secret. Just thought it’s too obvious. You don’t need to turn colorize off actually. Just move the RGB intensity slider to the left. That way you can even keep the polypaint plus some extra color tint based on the slider position and a current color.

ps. Would be nice if the tool could also alternate meshes automatically with a kind of random order, size and rotation.

ps2 Wow . And it’s also possible: brush modifiers>> Variations selector set to 3. Size and rotation still by hand although

Hya ZBer!!!
That is SO FUNNY!!!
Its also wonderful!
Thank you!!!
