is there a way to IMPORT normal maps to zbrush ?

here is the setup :

i modelled an object , and made an imagebased normal map via crazy bump
-its a great soft , it produces a great amount of details, but still its only a program so its not perfect and i dont have such a control over the normal maps.

so i want to bring the low poly model into zbrush , import normal map , so zbrush can produce a high poly geometry out of it , so i can work with it , change a few things , add or reduce …

when the work is done , i will have the edited normal map ready to use.

is there a way to do such a thing ?

thanks in advance for any help

A normal map doesn’t have true depth information. It can’t be used to displace points the same way that a displacement or bump map can.

The best I can think of would be to apply the normal map as a texture and then use that texture information to create a mask. (There are various options in the Tool>Masking menu that will let you do this. Use the one that gives the best results for your needs.) Once masked you can use a deformation such as Inflate or selectively sculpt through the mask.
