Is there a way to import a 67m poly plain and then automaticly sculpt a heightmap.

Hello

In mudbox you can make a plain and automaticly sculpt a heightmap in it. Is this possible with zbrush? The problem is i work with 67 million polys and while i try to do this in mudbox it runs out of memory at 71%.

So is there away to import a plain, make it 67m poly and then let zbrush automaticly make a sculpt out of heightmap i have?

Thank you

Short answer, no. ZBrush is a 32bit program and so can only use a maximum of 4GB of memory (on a 64bit system). That’s enough to create a model of about 21 million polys. You could split the plane into several smaller planes, as separate subtools, and get the density that way but you’d have the merge them outside ZBrush. You could also use HD Geometry, but that’s only of use if you are exporting a displacement map and you’ve already got that in the height map.
