Is there a way to align and "stamp" an alpha as a mask?

This is driving me absolutely insane. I have a very complex alpha (A tiled pattern to be used as an inlay on a piece of armour). Is there any way I can drag the alpha into place, align it, scale it then project it onto the object as a mask? Kind of like how Snapshot3D works except not creating an object but creating a mask instead.

The only option I’ve found is using DragRect on the MaskPen with the alpha but that is an exercise in frustration as you have to guess the exact right part to start the drag from or it won’t align how you want.

Hi @Xathian

Hold down Ctrl and select your alpha and the DragRect stroke. Start to draw out the alpha off of your mesh, not on it. Without letting go of Ctrl, hold down Spacebar to move it, let go of Spacebar to resize it again, hold Spacebar again if you have to move it again. When satisfied, let go of mouse button to stamp the alpha. The only thing you can’t do is rotate the mask, so you might have to rotate the subtool first.

Thank you, this is exactly what I needed. Took me hours last night trying to figure out a way to do this.
