Is it possible to unload a ztool?

I open up ztools that I no longer need, though for a while I’ve not been able to unload them from the menu. They must be taking up a fair bit of memory just sitting there. The only solution is to close and restart which is a pain as I have all my brushes set up etc.

Any solution to this?

preferences>init zbrush.

it’s basically a soft restart for Zbrush, but it will default to whatever Zbrush opens up for you on startup.

You can set up custom brushes or save over the original ones so that you don’t have to make those changes each time you load Zbrush.

hope that helps.

I think what you need is to press the [R] button under the [Clone Al Subtools] just beside the slider in the Tool palette, it will initialize Tool arrangement on your Tool palette just like when you launch ZBrush, but left the currently selected Tool instead.

And by doing this you no need to go through [Init ZBrush] to just get your Tool palette save you some space.

I don’t think he is looking to clean up his workspace. He’s looking to remove the loaded tools from RAM…which can only be done with an init zbrush or a complete restart.

Thanks for the pointers guys, both useful tips I never knew about befor

goast666: cheers, I saved over the existing brushes and that seems to work great! the init zbrush seems to be the best solution for this, it’s a step up from having to close and restart.

would be great to have an unload tool button in future versions.
