Is it possible to load an exterior morph target?

HI,
In Zbrush we can create layers and store one morph target as long as we make those changes inside a subtool. However, if we need to take the model to an exterior application to change the mesh (without messing the vertex number and order), is it possible to bring that model back as a morph target of the original Zbrush model?

This would be very handy, so I was wondering if someone has managed to do this.

Thank you.

Best,
Z.

yep, it can be done.

before you export store a morphtarget.
do your changes
import your new geo into the correct subD level.
switch the morph target (back to original one)
make a new layer
use the morphbrush, or slider, or switch MT buttons and make the changes now to a layer.

hope that helps.

Thanks a lot!

I have tried goast666’s solution and it works.
His post also led me to find something really cool, which you might already know:
-Export your subtool as OBJ.
-In an external program create several morph targets.
-Save each morph target as an individual OBJ.
-With your subtool selected (at the same subd level that you exported it) create a new layer.
-Choose import and pick the first morph target OBJ and it will load into that layer.
-Create a new layer and import the next OBJ and so on…

You will end up having a layered subtool with all the morph targets you have made in the external application.

Really cool!
