Is it just me, or is subtool navigation the worst?

This is kind of a petty post, but I find the subtool menu really aggravating. I have a lot of subtools and when I accidentally click visibility on the current tool, it makes all the others visible, after I’ve carefully made certain ones hidden. And it doesn’t help that you only know your current tool is selected by a small rectangular grey box around it.

Is this annoying to anyone else? It just seems more tedious than it should be.

Store your subtool visibility settings by using the Timeline. This lets you ‘save’ different groups of visible subtools, and you can go back to to a selection if you accidentally make a change.

You can try adjusting the IconButton colors or the Subpalette color to help make the selected Subtool stand out much more. If you need help using the actual viewport to see which subtool is selected, a quick tap of the Draw Polyframe button/shortcut or the Solo button can help.

Using the N-key might also be an easier way to select a subtool without worry of clicking anything else.

Thanks for the tips, seem useful.
