Bija, thanks for the compliment, It’s my first time propely using Zbrush so I’m pleased people like it.
For the skin I just used a very low RGB value usually around 10 to 17 and used a mixture of brushes. I found the spray and colourized spray help to get those slight colour differences. Then when it got too much I’d use the normal brush to just smooth it out. I’m hoping a material will really help bring the skin alive with specular but haven’t had time to play with that yet.
I have to just say that I think Zbrush has to be the best piece of software I’ve ever used. Sounds like I’m brown nosing, but I really mean that, I’m always getting frustrated by the how technical and usually buggy other software is. With Zbrush it really reminds me of being back at art school where you use your hands to create. It really has put the control back into the artist’s hands, and so far I haven’t found many bugs. Keep up the good work guys it really is awesome. Tutorials are great too.
There’s some seriously impressive work here!
Here’s my attempt at Whoopie Goldberg, it’s not quite right but I don’t think it’s too bad! - Baz
