Intous 3 Buttons, Ctrl and Shift together don't work?

I have an Intous 3, and the latest (to my knowledge, just a couple weeks old) drivers, and i can’t get Ctrl+Shift to work on my intous.

I have one button bound to Ctrl, and another to Shift, and pressing them at the same time does not work, it seems to cancel the first and favor the 2nd.

Thoughts? Anyone else with this issue?

hi Leefmc,

this is a known bug in the latest wacom intous driver 604.

check:

http://www.wacom-europe.com/forum/topic.asp?lang=de&ARCHIVE=&TOPIC_ID=9246

and:

http://www.zbrushcentral.com/zbc/showthread.php?t=50398

it will be solved in the next driver update for your intous… in the meantime try using the 602 driver.

happy zbrushing!

chem!

Thanks a ton

Be forewarned though, the 602 is the one with the blotching bug. Sometimes, when you do a stroke (in photoshop, zbrush, any pressure sensitieve app) the 602 may cause blob to appear at the beginning, and/or at the end of the stroke. I stuck with the 604 and applied CTRL-SHIFT to an expresskey instead.

What about previous versions?

Thank you! It didn’t occur to me that you could do that with just one expresskey. Now I can navigate more easily and also use the new display toggle function in 604.

hi there,

wacom just released the latest driver for intous and co.

youll find it on their american webpage. (for some reason theres no hint on the european site…)

“Windows® Driver v. 6.05-7(RC) for Professional Pen Tablets Posted as Release Candidate”

have fun and hope our problems are solved!

btw, here`s the link:

Wow, thank you for the followup

Sweet, it’s yet to be released for the rest of the world. The link is unavailable on other than US wacom sites. It recommends a clean install of wacom driver on vista though… and although the notes didn’t say about pressing two (or more?) expresskeys together, it fixed the problem. Although, it deleted my preference file, so I had to setup everything again. (grrrr.net)

-addendum: I didn’t do a clean install-

Yeah, the only funny thing I find now is that to transition from say ctrl-shift combo to just shift, I have to release both buttons and then press shift. I think previously I could just release the ctrl expresskey and then shift would be active.

I think so too, yeah. But it’s not too big a deal,.
Several latest release of their driver kinda suck. But this last one is good enough to work with.

Agreed. I can live with it. Actually this new issue is more noticable with Modo, which I use for my base meshes. In Modo the navigation is all alt, alt+ctl, and alt+shift. I just need to retrain my reflexes. I mentioned it on the Wacom Europe forum and got a quick reply that they’d look at it.

Do any of the latest ones have any advantage over the old ones?

For me the big new thing is the expresskey display toggle option.
