Interview: Digic Studios on the Assassin's Creed Cinematic

Simply stunning cinematic. The Warhammer one was memorable as well.
So atmospheric and authentic.
You guys easily hold your own against the likes of BLUR and Blizzard!

Respect !

Digic Rules!
Big respect from your neighbour in Croatia.

Fantastic work. I would love to get into this type of work one day. Making parts and enviroment stuff.

aaawww man, I cant wait for this game, love the cinematic and great interview.

Thanks to the folks at Digic, and congrats on all of their success. Great interview, interesting stuff.

I’m particularly impressed by your cloth shaders - really beautiful job guys<img src="http://www.zbrushcentral.com/upload/atn.gif">

Quite incredible! It seems like every time I see a cinematic from a top studio it gets harder to pick it as CG. I love the movement and cinematography in this one, it’s getting very, very natural. :+1:

the cinematic is amazing … love it … love it

thanks for the interview pixologic

The Assassin’s Creed 2 intro was a team effort, so it doesn’t really matter who wrote the answers, everyone deserves credit for their contributions

Thanks for the kind comments everyone!

This is so amazing…and thats saying something because i’m not easily amazed :stuck_out_tongue:

I remember watching the warhammer cinematic a while ago, when I saw this intro I thought these guys are even better than the guys at the studio that did warhammer! I didn’t know that was possible…

Didn’t know they’re both coming from you!

If I can’t work as a CG artist at your studio I’m also honoured if I could bring around coffee

Cool interview, that trailer is amazing. i’m one the character modeler on the AC2 game , and I’ve been blown away through all the work in progress versions up to the Final released one. Congratulation guys you did an awesome job to support the game!

wow !!!:grimacing:
very very very very professional models…:+1:
I LOVE assassins creed 1 , 2 , 3 , …

omg,…this looks so coool…cuz of u guys,…in future we wont need any more real actors,…who needs brad pitt,…CG FTW,…

keep on rockin’

This is truly a masterpiece of work…

Does someone know, who was directing (Camera operating) ?
And who did the lighting ?

and finally, which software for the character animation was used, and which render ?

thank you so much

check another masterpiece from guys @ Digics:small_orange_diamond:D

Oh my GOD that also is TOO COOL!

Can I arrange a job interview with you guys somewhere around 2012? :stuck_out_tongue:

Very Nice

Hope the second game’s a lot better than the first.

As far as I know most of the camera work was done by the director, István Zorkóczy.

And who did the lighting ?

Many people worked on the lighting, including Balázs Horváth, Péter Fendrik, Péter Svéd, and István Zorkóczy.
(Again, as far as I know, so I might have to correct this later…)

and finally, which software for the character animation was used, and which render ?

It’s Maya and Mental Ray.
