Intervain's Sketchbook

Thanks everyone for the kind words

Swisher - the bulge is just part of the base model of the eyeball - here’s the wireframe to show you what I mean. It’s modeled after a real eye shape

FooD - thank you

Aumakua - haha I was actually thinking about it

Point - haha - I can I only say I didn’t use Chevy Chase as ref but there’s something in it  They all took a few weeks because I could only do it on the weekends but usually it takes about an hour or couple of hours for a shape. Not that time consuming. I had to start from scratch for the HMC not from a ready base mesh so the modeling took some time too:)
I made them one after the other, each on a separate layer and at the end changed and refined the ones I didn’t like too much. I also sometimes used the morph target to get the same type of deformation in more than one shape… rarely but it sometimes helped speed things up

GregStrangis - thanks

FoOD - they were rendered in XSI using Mental Ray [couple of lights, hdri dome and FG]

tommy3d - thanks

Etcher - thank you!

skulll_monster - thanks a lot

brettSinclair - hehe! well sir, you did some wicked ones too

Moni-Poroni - thank you very much.

calum5ZB - thanks

MaxAlbert - thanks Max

Swisher - no prob.

OlirO - thanks

Stumf - thanks Ralf. Yes Tim’s Mephistopheles as well as the amazing version by Jacques Gautier are my major source of influence here

Mikeporetti - thanks very much

Mistwalker - thank you!

Now I have seen Bruckners and Gautiers I can see that yours is a younger version of Mephistopheles, now I know who this character is, I’m interested to know if you did a much angrier one (mouth open twice as wide etc). Thanks for the reply, very smart use of layers.

Point - cheers… I’ve tried several versions but decided to go with a more clenched jaw… I think it worked better.

nice and clean job magdalena, keep it up.

Indeed it did. When i think of Mephisto I think Goethe’s Mephisto, and when I think Goethe’s Mephisto I think unintelligent trying to deceive. You conveyed the try flawlessly. Top row
