Hi Col,
I have an Imac and i run zbrush 3 on it…
I installed and followed bootcamp then installed windows and I now have 30g of my hard drive running on windows .
then zbrush 3 is a free upgrade from zbrush2 and off you go.
I believe that when zbrush3 becomes available for mac, I should be able to change my licence for a mac one and get back on familiar grounds.
give it a go
cheers
Martin.
Hi all, we seem to have a growing issue with the faster systems. I’ll try to find some time and re-look at the issue to help some of you out.
However one of the wizards that works with me tried something out a couple days ago: http://www.virtualbox.org/ Using his brand new MacBook Pro 17" maxed out of course. He was able to run the latest version of Zbrush (3.x Windows) without issue.
That said, it’s only been a few days…
you guys rock! thanks for posting this thread jason. if you have a second, put aurick’s cfg file in your first post. i knew it was here from lurking but others might not. works like a charm but i had to go thru 17 pages to find it. it probably won’t matter soon but either way, thx again!
Glad to hear it pete330, perhaps Aurick can do as you suggested, as I don’t seem to have access to editing… Guess I hasn’t paid my dues…
Finally made some progress on this!
I just tried the “start up ZB2, force quit, start up something else, force quit, start up ZB2 again”, and got success. Up to a point - now ZB2 doesn’t like my ULicense.zul file, which has been sitting dormant for 5 1/2 months. The file is located in /Applications/ZBrush 2/, along with the TempSN.txt file, just as the e-mail said it should be.
What do I need to do from here?
Thats as far as i got with z2 on mac, but my codes were brand new(?)… im just going to bite the bullet and install windows(bootcamp)… and all this time i thought i was non PC…

I guess this thread is old and lost, as zb3 is on the road.
But, I can’t get zb2 to run on osx10.5. It always freeze on startup window. I tried that script here, but it will not work…
So, any help or do I need to wait another month?
Hello maestrorobertus, in order to help we need to know your system info as requested at the beginning of the thread, which script you tried (each thread post has a unique ID, so we know which one to look at), and the exact sequence of steps you are doing/have done so we can hopefully get you rolling.
I refer to the start script on page 5 and the UI startup config file on page 16.
I used both but zBrush simple stops on loading…
My System: MBP, 4 GigRam, Osx 10.5
OK, I’m assuming Core Duo (not Core Duo2) you’re not clear. And which iteration of 10.5 (we’re currently at 10.4.5).
Now can you be specific what you’re doing, as even on Page 5 if you deviate you will have issues.
The main problem is that things are running so fast, that Zbrush is getting left behind as it has to run under Rosetta. So we need to slow things down and not confuse the process on startup.
What other apps are you running?
In order to help you have to describe the environment, I’m not there, but all things are possible.
Or you could just hold out until the end of the month…
Or not…
ok, didn’t know that it needs so much details:
CPU: 2.6 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Mac OS X version: 10.5.4
Other Application runnig at the same time: Skype, Firefox, Finder.
I also disabled them (not the finder) but no difference.
ZBrush starts and brings up the License Agreement, but hangs… so I can’t do anything.
I used the script _zbrushrun_master.app.scpt.zip but it didn’t help…
