Insert Nose - Unable to to transpose with dynanmesh

Hello,

i am hoping someone could shed some light on a problem I am having. I am currently playing around on zbrush 4r2 with my mac.

I am trying to use the insert nose brush but after I have initially placed it I have the following problem: the rest of the model does not mask out like the other insert brushes do. As a result I cannot change its size, position etc using the transpose tools. The other insert brushes seem to work fine and after I am happy with their placement I control drag a few times to dynamesh the model together as a whole. I have restarted zbrush a few times and this does not seem to help. Any suggestions? The only thing I can think of is if I inadvertently changed the brush settings for this particular brush.

Thanks.

Sean

Mine is doing the same thing too and, off-hand, I can’t figure out why. Although turned on, the ‘Auto Mask Mesh Insert’ button doesn’t seem to be working on that brush. What you could do in the meantime is just manually mask the mesh first before you use the InsertNose brush.

Ok, I have repaired the brush and attached it here. To install it, go to ZBrush 4R2b/ZData/BrushPresets and move ‘InsertNose.ZBP’(broken one) to another location of your choice (I don’t want to ask you to delete it). Then unzip the fixed one (InsertNose2.ZBP) to ZBrush 4R2b/ZData/BrushPresets

Thank you for your help. Strange problem. I wonder if it is fixed with any updates or the latest 4r2b.

Wow! Really? Did you not even read my 2nd post?

I’m using 4r2. I was asking if the problem was fixed with the new release 4r2b, or with a program update rather than manually updating a single brush. Am I missing something? My apologies otherwise. Thanks again.

For me, the brush worked in 4R2 but didn’t work in 4R2b. If your waiting for it to be fixed in an update, don’t hold your breath. I’ve been waiting for the Lighrbox “Open At Launch” button in Preferences to be fixed since version 3.5. I’ve repaired the brush and posted it above, but I’m on PC, so the fix might not even work for you anyway. At least anybody on a PC searching for this fix can use it. All you can do is try it. Maybe somebody on a Mac will read this and fix it and post it but, again, don’t hold your breath. Of course, your other alternative would be to repair it yourself.
