Insert Multimesh Curves random scaling weirdness (answered)

Hey Im trying to create a insert multi mesh curve brush that mimics a bunch of random angled stitches along a path.

Im creating 6 or so subtools of a stitch looking shape --> { this has been rotated at several angles 45 degrees. etc

| / \ X <---- stitch geo like this

the issue is when i capture the brush and assign curve stroke… then enable max variations and then random variaion setting (no 3) it essentially does what im after except each variation is scaled differently. how can i prevent my meshs from randomly scaling along the curve. though testing it is appearing like it has something to do with how i capture the tools from the viewport. what axis they are aligned in at the time of capture ???

will try and post pics soon.

solved. it really seems like depending what axis your tool is set to in the viewport when captured will create weird scales.

I had to rotate the tool in the viewport rotation 90 degrees from the orthographic plane i captured and it has seemed to have solved it … will post comparison pics soon.

there still seems to be some slight scaling going on between subtools but its not where near as dramatic.

further tests seem to show the mesh you use to duplicate along a curve using the random stroke function needs to have the same bounding box volume to avoid scaling of the mesh i think ?!!

Thank you, this was driving me crazy.
