The new geometry must have an open surface; the
replacement feature cannot work with volumes. Insert H (half) cylinder is open geometry, insert cylinder has volume.
how do I know if its open surface or not, how can you tell the difference. If you can help me or direct me it will mean alot

All the new insert brushes with H in the name have open geometry. If you want to make your own just cut of the caps of your tool.
