Insert Mesh Functions [Answered]

Hi,
is it possible to insert a mesh in a way that it doesn’t sample the underlying surface for information about rotation ? I know you can use the “Pick Once” to only sample the orientation at one point but what if my surface is all curved. Even holding the spacebar and sliding the mesh does not give me a clean camera axis rotation.
I want to insert my mesh(es) more or less from the camera view orthogonal to the camera axis. Is that possible ?

You can use the Selected Orientation window in the Picker palette. Click and drag so that the ‘pencil’ points straight down and your meshes will be inserted in the screen plane. Remember that changes made in the Picker palette are global and so will affect all sculpting brushes - switch back to Continuous Orientation when you’re done.

Doink. Totally forgot about that one (hell I even have it as an Item in my Menu :).
Z-Information overload. Guess the oldest features get pushed out of my synapses to make room for all the new stuff

If you want to use the screen as the orientation plane, there’s a better option.

Lightbox > Brush > Insert > MeshInsert Fit.
