Insert brush question for micromesh

Dose anyone know how Paul Gaboury makes the insert plane brush work so well in the Fibermesh Tree 2 Movie found here http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthread.php?165601-ZBrush-4R2b-ZClassroom-Movies#post927377

When I tried it and made my own insert brush it was really hard to keep it from either getting really long or stretched out. I did try holding the shift key while dragging out the insert plane brush that I made onto the tree leaves fibers but it didn’t help very much and had to really force it to not stretch out the plane.

Also most of my flowers came out upside down. I want to have a flower that has a backside but not up in the air while the open flower is stuck to the tree lol. I know I could either turn off double sided on the plane (well maybe) but then wouldn’t be able to see my flower’s backside, just make both sides of the flower the same, or rotate each plane after rendering one at a time.

Does the fact that he is so dang great at Zb make this look so easy or is there a setting I can play with in the brush menu to be able to constrain the plane more and the drawing of it?

Any help would be most appreciated thank you.

ha never mind duhhh saw the updated movies for 4 and told me all about the insert brushes. Sorry for the silly question but didn’t realize they updated the thread with more tuts. :o

Which new movies? Just curious if I missed any.

Sorry about that didn’t see that you wrote here. the movies I was talking about were found here http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthread.php?161537-ZBrush-4R2-ZClassroom-Movies.-Update-3&p=895791&viewfull=1#post895791

They were the classroom movies but I had only saw the thread when they only had a few movies on it not the full 17. I got too excited getting the update I didn’t read that they said we should look at the older movies made for 4 lol before the new FiberMesh/MicroMesh videos . So never realized they put a few tuts on how to make insert brushes and use the planes to make them draw out a certain way without stretching or flipping. I just couldn’t get the MicroMesh thing strait and all my flowers on my tree either stretched to no end or flipped upside down. If you haven’t checked them out yet well they are really something you should lol I learned the hard way for sure. :D:o:D

Oh, ok. I’ve tinkered with fibermesh some, and probably need to play with it a bit more.
