I have been working my way through a tutorial and they started using to the initialise button in the tool palate which I hadn’t needed up until now. I have run up and down with my curser along the palate only to find it is not there. In the tutorial is is second from bottom between unified skin and export, but my 4R5 has unified skin, import and export at the bottom. Can anyone help to find it or has there been an update beyond the 4R5 that I have missed. I work on a Mac.
The ‘Tool > Initialize’ sub-palette is only available for the primitives, ie: anything in the ‘Tool > 3D Meshes’ palette. It will not be available for anything you import or anything that has been made into a ‘Polymesh 3D’ via the ‘Tool > Make Polymesh 3D’ button.
The Tool palette contents change depending on which type of tool is selected. For the Initialize sub-palette to be there you need to select a ZBrush primitive. These are parametric objects that you can change the shape of by using the options in the Initialize sub-palette. The selection is outlined here:
