Inflate Brush Bug in 4r4 P2?

4R4 p2
Windows 7

So on quite a few occasions, I’ve been using the inflate brush, and instead of just acting on the localized area where my brush stroke is, it is inflating the entire subtool.

It appears to happen more when I’m zoomed out or the brush size it at maximum, something along those lines.

Is this a bug, or a feature, and if it is a feature, can I turn it off?

This problem just cost me an afternoons worth of work, as I didn’t realize my subtool got inflated with enough undos to go back before it happened.

Thanks for any info.

It is a feature…not clue if you can turn it off though.
Is there a reason you’re using r4p2 instead of r5? The undo history (10,000 undo points) and quicksaves probably would have saved you as well.

Thanks beta_channel. Interesting feature. If anyone knows how to turn it off, please let me know.

As for using 4r2 P2 - that’s what the studio I’m at is using. And it takes time for larger studios to upgrade.

Yeah, the studio I am at yells at me every single time we upgarde…then they get all happy because the improvements in Zbrush increases our productivity…

Anyway, being the lead has its advantages, so we upgrade after 2 weeks of most releases (I run stress tests and such on the new version to see if anything will break our pipeline).

I don’t have the solution but the same thing happens to me from time to time with ZB4R4. When it happens, I zoom-in more and retry the same stroke and it works.
