Incorrect UV data, Incorrect Face data

I am trying to use GoZ (Z4) with Maya2011 hotfix3 on the PC.
I keep getting “Incorrect UV data detected” or “Incorrect Face data detected” errors with a imported file provided by a client.
I dont get any errors with simple geometry that I make in Maya to test this problem.

The original model is a MAX format file, and using GoZ in MAX on this same file is no problem.

Any ideas would be helpful.

I have tried changing the uv’s, deleting history, cleanup, duplicating, & quadrangulating in an attempt to change geo properties.

Thank you

I’m experiencing the same thing, however, I created my object directly in May and then tried exporting to Zbrush. Did you ever find a solution to this?

No, I have not. I ended up rebuilding the objects.
If there were more information in the error message, or if I could find a reference on the interwebs, then maybe I could try and track it down.

I feel your pain.

well I was initially trying to have a mesh that had multiple uv sets within maya when I was getting the error. After combing the uvs to only one set (default), I stopped getting the error.

heyho guys. Just got the same problem today. Tried to use GoZ from Maya to Zbrush and got the error. I saved out the model in maya as obj. and loaded it in Zbrush. Model looks fine, no kind of distortion … hope it help you guys

looks like that importing as .obj works, hope it helps you guys

That works, but it kills your crease sets set up in Maya.
Even if you try to harden the edges so that you can do “select using constraitns” in maya with “hard edges” and re-crease quickly, its glitchy.

For some reason, it imports the OBJ displaying the hard edges properly, but it doesnt recognize them as hard or soft edges when you use the constraint selection. You have to do your creases all over again, and when dealing with robotics, that will suuuck.

Cleanup unknown nodes and etc doesnt fix the issue. Does anyone have any further input? Any Pixologic guys?

I don’t know if this helps, but when I triangulated my model, It imported just fine.

Hi, I just encounter the same problem as you guys,
and after looking for a solution I maybe have the beginning of an answer,

I am using Maya and tried to use GoZ to export my model and… Blame, the same problem.

I checked all possible unknown data and I saw that I had some Vertex Color information that I didn’t wanted and a lot of UV set I didn’t do.

I just deleted them and use GoZ and it seems to work for now.

Hope it help, see ya!
