Importing topology, I swear it was easier!

Okay, maybe im nuts, but I seem to remember importing new topology was really simple. I could’ve sworn all you had to do was lower the tool to the lowest subdivision and import new topology. Am I thinking of something esle?? I remember doing this a while ago, but now when I try it does’nt seem to work. Anyone have any ideas?

ah krap, sorry folks I just realized that I was thinking of importing uvs for mapping. Dang.
