Hello all, since using 3.5r3 i have not had the importing scale issue…until today. After working on a model for the last few days, having around 50 subtools, i have been importing/exporting from max/zbrush with no issues at all. Then out of nowhere, literally, the issue reared its head. The first subtool in my stack decided to change its scale, x, y, and z values all to 0. No matter which of the saved tools i loaded in, this was the case.
I remembered reading a while back that the scale is determined by the first subtool in the stack. When i looked at the scale, x, y, z values of all the other subtools in the stack, they all listed actual values. So, i took the second subtool in the stack and moved it to the top of the list. I then appended the imported obj and voila! it took on the correct values. Now, i only need to find out why ZBrush decided to spontaneously change the values in the first place. Anyway, this was a simple solution for me. Hopefully it can help someone out there having the same issue.
I have been having a doozy of a time with scaling issues - I will check and see if this is a work around for my issues - thanks:).
