I have a couple questions about importing updated geometry…
If I do all of my sculpts on an object at say subD level 6… but I want to update the base geometry. I go to lowest subdivision level and then import my updated geometry. This works. I see the update. Even when I change my subD level back to 6 my base geometry changes are intact. However, when I either turn a layer on or off. My changes disappear. I have to go back and put mysubD level to zero and then import my new base geo again. Is there a way to get around this?
Also.; I thought that if I have a subD’d object in my scene and I try and import my new base mesh that it would subD the new geo and try and transfer the details onto the new object. However when i’m given the “Do you wish to Transfer detail” dialog. I click “Yes”. However, it just switches to my new low res geo and doesn’t actually transfer details. Does anyone know why this is happening?
