so I am new to facial rigging and at the moment i am learning about using facial morphers. At the moment i am working on a jaw open morpher. so i first open my models mouth on 3ds max and then take it zbrush for fine tuning.
the image above shows the original model and a morpher model with mouth open about to be sent to zbrush for fine tuning. The morpher model is located at x=0 y=0 z=0 in viewport space in order for me to be able to use the symmetry tool in zbrush.
After fine tuning ( the grey model is after zbrush adjustments have been made. note: this is just an example the mesh is clearly distorted just for demonstration) the model is imported back to 3ds max using goz. we can see that both models have the same scale ( before export and after re import). But the problem arises when the morpher is applied to the re imported model.
when the morpher is applied to the re imported model and the morpher slider increased. we see that yes the mesh does follow the morpher but it also increases in size. This is some form of scalling issue. I tried to find a solution before posting here but was unlucky. I tried applying xfrom modifier to the model before export and still nothing. I also came across this thread on the zbrush forums: http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthread.php?46091-Import-export-scaling-issue-3DS-Max
The thread pretty much explains the problem i am having but no one has answered the post. Please help me!
