Importing a model with polypaint information.

Hello all, I’m a zbrush newbie so I’m sure I’m just missing a simple step somewhere.

I created a sphere in zbrush and then polypainted on it. I then exported it as an OBJ. If I open the obj file in a texteditor I can see MRGB data. Also, if I open my model in something like “Topogun” or “xNormal” I can see the model with color, the polypaint information just fine looks fine.

If i open Zbrush again and I try to bring that same OBJ into zbrush via “Import” I don’t get any of the polypaint information? There is no color, just the default red wax material. What’s the proper way to import the model with polypaint data back into zbrush?

save as a ztool and then use it again in ZB and also make a texture map so you can import and export without problem

that doesn’t work. Ztool is a binary zbrush format, I will not be able to open the file outside of zbrush.

I need it to be an obj so I can modify it with other applications that can handle the MRGB data embedded in the OBJ. Exporting it and loading it into the other applications works fine. I am having a problem bringing the OBJ with MRGB data back into zbrush.
