Imported brushes have no alpha

Hi I just imported some brushes into ZBrush but it has no alpha, doesn’t come with the pack too. And this wasn’t the first time I had a problem like this, everytime after I uploaded a custom brush, they just looked like the standard brush to me

this screenshot is from the tutorial video, it’s how the brush(not the one I’m showing above, but you know what I mean) should looks like

Hello @Jeuras ,

Unless the problem also affects the custom brushes that you create in the program–do you have any problems creating then loading a custom brush with an alpha yourself?–then the simplest explanation is that there is a problem with the brush files that you are downloading. There could be a corruption issue there, or they may have been created in a version of the program that is too old and will need to be updated.

If you are having trouble creating and loading custom brushes with alphas in your ZBrush installation, please contact ZBrush Support.

Thank you!

This is from the ZBrush Guides Giger/Beksinski tribute set. If I start Zbrush 2022, start a dynamesh sphere and load the brush in by double clicking the brush from the extracted zip, it is loading the alpha, where your screenshot is not showing an alpha loading. It might be worth seeing if you can re-download the zip file from ZBrush Guides, or contacting @Pablander in case the download file has become corrupted?

If you can say more how/method you are “loading” the brush ito ZBrush, it might be that @Spyndel, @Pablander and other members may have more suggestions.

#edit if it helps, for me, the file size of ZiBe_Membrane_Wall2 is 3984 KB, so I guess the alpha is embedded in the file?

#edit 2. @Spyndel they were created in 2021.6.6 from the support video with the brush pack, if that helps with the age of them?

Hi @sbmongoose , @Jeuras ,

There’s little I can tell you here without a registered user contacting ZBrush Support and putting some files in our hands. Technical Support for ZBrush requires the exchange of sensitive information and cannot be conducted over the public forums. This is the only way to verify an issue with the brush files themselves, an issue with the current version of ZBrush, or a local issue with the installation environment.

Thank you!

I have sent this file to support as I received it, for your attention.
Is there something you need me to do to prove I’m a registered user?
