import .obj with texture from max to zbrush

Hi guys!

Earlier i did an eye in max, with the uv and all, did my texture in photoshop.
Now i<d like to use it in zbrush, but can’t quite find the way. I’ve imported my obj and my texture, and when applied, it’s all mess up…

Can somebody guide me to a tuto. or show the steps to import my eye with the texture?

Thanks!

i think you just need to flip the texture- vertically possibly

yup,TheVision71 is right- hot too
open the top menu texture, hit flipV

hey!

Thanks guys…i did forgot to flip my map. But there was another problem.
When i did my eye in max, i did a lens in front of the iris with transparency.
When i import my eye in zb, i couldn’t see my iris because of the lens in front, (it’s opaque) i can’t see through …So my new question is, when importing an obj. with material sub objects (including one with tranparence) How can i see it in zb?

any help or guidance ,would be much appreciated!!

Have a nice day!

there is a transparent button on the right shelf
although this will let you see through the object when selected (lens) it won’t actually be transparent- only for subtools though so group split or whatever
the problem with exporting obj’s is that it’s just the mesh- no other qualities apart from mapping co-ords i think so any transparency will be lost
you sure you need a lens anyway? they’re very small and unless it’s a close-up of the eye the toy plastic material will probably give the impression of wetness enough to fool the viewer into thinking it’s what it’s meant to be
i’m pretty sure zbrush doesn’t do transparency other than in the image plane3 plugin- not sure how that works with subtools though but it might be worth a try
depending on what you’re going to use it for another option would be to fake it in post effects
good luck

yeah…that<s what i did…deleted the lens!! dont really need it!

Thanks for your help man…will study this later on! Now im on to texturing my skin!

have a nice one!
