Import button does not work.

Hi all,

I am trying out Zbrush 3.5 RC3.

Whenever I click on the Import button in the Tools pallete, nothing happens. I just click it and no window pops up.

No window shows up when I try to Import a file through the Document menu.

I have searched the forums and found nothing. Someone else posted a similar problem but did not get a proper answer.

Help?

Nevermind. It works now. I re-installed it.

Sounds like ZB is improperly installed. What are your platform specs?

What do you mean ‘I am trying out Zbrush 3.5 RC3’?

I am having exactly the same problem and its pretty annoying, cant export ither, there isnt much point in zbrush if you cant import/export.

Ihave tryed reinstalling Zbrush and import/export buttons still do nothing, dose anyone have a solution?

Operating system?
-K

I run windows 7 64 bit
I use zbrush 3.5
I have a 9800GT GPU, a Dual core CPU and 3 gig of ram

i appreciaiate any help than can be given.

First thing to try:
Browse to your 3.5 R3 folder. Right-click on ZBrush and choose Properties. Go to the Compatibility tab. At the bottom of that tab, turn on the Run as Administrator check box, then click Apply.
Second thing to try:
Deactivate and Uninstall ZB. Browse to your programs folder and completely delete the Pixologic and Zbrush folders you find there. Reinstall. (This reportedly worked for another user with Win7.)
If both fail, then open a ticket with Pix support.

I have the same problem. i switched the option so it allows me to run the program as administrator but still no change. any other ideas? i’ve reinstalled three times now.

Please submit a Support ticket.

I have found that after setting the compatibility mode to “run as administrator”, then launching Zbrush… still doesn’t allow the import texture button to work, however if I go to the tools menu, then select import tool, the import window pops up and I could select a tool. If I close that window, THEN go to the import button on the textures drop down, it imports the texture just fine. I have to almost trick the system first and fake an import of something else, then go back and import what I really wanted which was a texture.
