IMPATIENT PROSPECTIVE ZBRUSH PURCHASER NEEDS AWNSER

Hi folks , a quick question, I am very tempted to buy this program today[NOW!hehe]
but I require a question answering.

Can I import the figs from poser [complete meshes] and then sculpt, divide, smooth etc
in the same way as an object generated in Zbrush?
The idea is to pose a figure then hone the shape etc in zbrush [no real intention of returning it to poser after…most likely]

The divide and smooth tools look like they would be great to refine the mesh surface on say Vicki 3.

The final product intended here is something for producing STL files from, so
Zbrush is just one step[proposed step] in the creative chain.[very huge files are more than likely, I guess zb can handle producing monster meshes?]

I am very keen to try this prog but the $$$
put me of just buying it to see, the demo
is disabled in the inport export area so testing out my ideas is not possible here.

opinions would be very valuble

Cheers

Welcome and congratulations
poser tutorial by Southern

That tutorial is for creating Poser morph targets within ZBrush. For the purposes that you described, it’s even easier. Simply import your Poser figure and sculpt away! Sculpting an imported mesh is the same as sculpting a native object.

In fact, you can even test things out with the DAZ rhino, which is located in the ZScripts\Utilities\TextureMaster folder. This mesh was imported and then immediately saved as a ZTL so that it can be loaded by demo users.

Hy setmenu excuse me to give a wrong guide and thanks Aurick for say me. I really appreciated¡
Thanks again

Well I paid for one   .
The rhino was very helpful, cheers for the suggestion.
Infact what also grabbed me was the fact the prog seems to respond to my Wacom tablet,
That sort of interface really appealed.
I have no idea how useful this prog is really actually going to be in the long run as
I intend to create some really dense meshes
and thus equally HUGE files.

We shall see.

Thanks all for giving me that final shove,
no doubt I shall have lots of questions in the future.

Cheers

Welcome aboard! Glad to help.

I would say that in the long run, you are going to be HUGELY satisfied. The current version of ZBrush can handle up to about 250,000 polygons (potentially more if you have enough RAM).

The next version, which will be a free upgrade to you, is optimized to handle even more. 4-8 times more. Check out this thread by Pixolator.
