IMM Randomly Cycling Objects Along a Curve? Or from Curve to Curve?

Can I use a randomly cycling IMM brush to make a necklace strung with random beads?

Or am I limited to making random necklaces, each with identical beads along their respective strings?

You can set it up to cycle meshes in order, or randomly.
Check around the Brush: Modifiers setting (such as Multimesh Variation Selector Mode: 0=static, 1 cycles forward, 2 backwards, 3 for random)

But does it cycle within a single curve draw?

Or does it just vary the objects from one curve to the next curve?

It cycles along a single curve.

So far I can’t seem to get that to work.

I guess I will continue with my explorations, then. Thanks.

You need to increase the number of variations along with the variation selector mode.

As an example:

  1. Select the IMM Gun brush ( shortcut B I G)
  2. Turn on curve mode (Stroke: Curve Mode)
  3. Drawing at this stage gives you a bunch of guns along the curve
  4. Increase the Multimesh Selector, Multimesh Variations, and Multimesh Variation Selector Mode
  5. Drawing will now produce random parts from the IMM brush and place them along the curve instead

I sort of get it now. Thanks.

I’m not sure what I do that causes the whole thing to disregard my settings after a stroke and go into tri part mode.
