Hi all, I am using the GMH2 workflow where I draw polyplanes on my mesh as a base for hair. These planes dont have UV coordinates assigned to them. Is it possible to modify the brush so it generates a flat UV strip the length and width of the plane? Thanks
Okay so I made some progress with mapping the UVs, I made sure each component for the Insert Mesh (Three Parts) were unwrapped and enabled the stroke modifier.
Now I seem to have a problem which is the size of the mesh is it inserting is way too small. I can increase the draw size however this means it’s gonna have less points to interpolate between on the stroke, if I increase the stroke stepping it starts to overlap the meshes which isn’t ideal.
The problem can be seen here: http://i.imgur.com/Aqb7cKJ.jpg

What I’ve tried to do to resolve it: Check all settings in Brush and Stroke palette, there is no option for Mesh Size/Scale, It is controlled by the brush size it seems. I have also tried to reimport the mesh at a different size, making sure to reset all transforms in maya. It still is drawing the mesh at a size relative to the draw size. Is there any way to increase it? You can see a Custom IMM by JNascone which is bigger at the same draw size… it’s practically identical to the brush I want to make except it has no UV coordinates assigned to it.
Still haven’t resolved this problem. Any input would be appreciated
Make sure Curve Res is cranked up and stretch is on.
Additionally, and I only just realized this painstakingly… You have to snap your viewing direction when creating the brush so that the mesh is perfectly framed.
