IMM Brushes/Tri-Part Brushes & existing UV mapping

Hey guys,

Have been playing with IMM Brushes, and I absolutely love them! Have noticed some odd behavior when creating an IMM Brush with existing UVs, drawing a curve of it, and then exporting it out of Zbrush. My expectation with this workflow would be that: If I import a mesh with UVs, and create an IMM brush out of it, it should export with those UVs after drawing it out as a curve.

Instead, am noticing that upon export of the mesh in zbrush, the UV’s are smashed at 1,0, and go out into negative space on the UV sheet. Is this the expected behavior?

steps:
(tri-part brush setup not a requirement)

  1. Create mesh in 3dsMax/Maya with the intent of it being a Tri-Part IMM brush
  2. UV mesh
  3. export OBJ
  4. Import OBJ to Zbrush, ensure polygroups are setup for a tripart IMM brush
  5. create IMM brush, use.
  6. export mesh as OBJ
  7. import Max/Maya - open UV editor - uvs smashed! :frowning:

Any advice here? This a bug, or limitation of feature?

Got the same problem , really enjoy if somebody could help us on this , i don’t want to redo my UVs on every pieces after inserting the mesh…

Only issue I found was to grab a multi UV transfert script for maya that’s working but if U can upgrade this in the next version could be great to keep UVs on IMM
