Image Plane 4 Woes!

OK, just downloaded/installed the new Image Plane 4 for R2 and am having trouble.

I import my images in the texture tab, then upload the desired image with Image Plane. I can’t get the ImgSize, SHIFT H or SHIFT V sliders to work. The image is over sized and not centered and I want to scale and position so I can use it, but the sliders have no effect.

I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. Do I have to use spotlight? I really liked being able to save reference views in the Image Plane.

Anybody who can help?

Thanks, T

Are you on Mac or Windows? If Mac, what OSX version?

Thanks,

I am having a bit of a problem with Image Plane 4R2 as well on a fresh start-up of ZBrush. I’m on Windows Vista 32 bit. Following is the workflow.

  1. Launch ZBrush.
  2. Select Cube primitive, draw it on canvas, turn on Edit, make it a PM3D.
  3. Go to Texture > Image Plane. With ‘Front’ selected, I click ‘Load Image’ and select an image from one of my image folders and click ‘Open’.
  4. The Cube disappears, Edit and Transpose buttons are greyed out and canvas goes to 2.5D. [edit] Image does not appear on canvas also.

With the CubePM3D still in the Subtool palette, I can’t re-draw it in 3D. It only draws in 2.5D

I click ‘Init ZBrush’ and do the whole process over and Image Plane 4R2 works normally.

The following , I have on start-up.

  1. Pixolators ‘UIStarter_Z4R2_V1.zsc’ plugin.
  2. Lightbox close at start-up code in ‘DefaultZScript.txt’
    //startup
    [If,1,[IPress,Preferences:Lightbox:Lightbox]]
    [If,1,[IPress,Macro:Macros:Misc:StartupMacro]]
    [If,1,[IUnPress,Zscript:Show Actions]]
    [pd]
  3. Startup Macro from Marcus for ‘Draw Size’ not changing issue.

Preferences > ‘Init ZBrush’ does fix it though.

Hi Marcus. Sorry, I’m using Windows XP Pro x 64, 8 gigs RAM.

Any ideas? I wound up making actual image planes with images as textures on PolyPlanes, but I’d love to be able to use Image Plane.

Thanks zber2 and Tristan,
I’m puzzled by this and have not been able to reproduces the issues. However, I have come across something in zscript which may be affecting things for you so I will do some experimenting.

Thanks, Marcus. Any help would be much appreciated!!

hi marcus_civis,

I do have the exact same problem by using the image plane 4 plugin (using the version 4.08)

Unfortunately, in my case, the problem persists even after initializing zbrush

I am working on the latest MacBook Pro, OSX Lion 10.7.2

Thanks for helping!

Hi I joined here because I am having the exact same problem as earl and zber2. I’ve literally spent all day searching out tutorials and info on how to get this to work and haven’t figured it out. I’m running a macbook pro with snow leopard. Anyone have any luck yet? Thanks!
