Im trying to make her skirt, and unless I have 2 hidden spheres this happens

[vicky explode.jpg]

Whats going on i have a mt stored and still it happens whenever I dont hide a pair of spheres in her waist and switch to the sphere view. (I only moved them a little bit too) Is there a plugin to actually repair this redrawing error or am I stuck with the 2 hidden spheres trick?

Can you show the ZSphere figure?

Experienced the same thing several times with adaptive meshes sometimes exploding progressively in nova-like fashion (no need to even move vertices or stuff). For me it so far always meant: “have a saved version or be f****d”. Interesting approach with this hide zspheres thing.

PS: ZGirl?? Sounds kinda superheroine-ish… elastibrush and stuff

If zspheres are not a problem, then somehow ploys have been streched.

Go to the lowest subdivision to ammend it… but Show the zsphere screenshot first…

ok, i started fresh once no one answered in like 5 hours, this time im being very careful not to enter poly edit mode until I have everything done on her in zspheres and will save a non mesh edited copy. But i would still like to know the answer for future refence.

BTW, people kept missing the last word in the first paragraph so I did it that way. almost everyone online mistakes me for a guy so I make it a point to add it in my sig

Well Insanity

No prob with zsphere, by mistake some poly have streched, go to the lowest subdivision level and pull them back towards the body…

and regarding being late in answering, you need to consider timings, as we dont know which country you from  atleast I come by this time, night in my country day in Usa…

moreover its the weekend time, so Aurick wont be around much, he is the main person here who answers all of us…

I understand about the time, thats why I gave it a few hours then said eh start over. I feel that the more I am forced to start over the better the final product will be. This time i am not touching the polys until im 100% sure all of her parts are accounted for, this includes her crossbow, skirt, collar and her outlandishly long hair, which will be one piece.

Im also looking at motion builder, I like the demo movies, and will learn enough to see if I can actually use it for my game, at least for close contact, (I have a fair few of them planned) before taking the plunge and buying it. (I might cheap out and edit out the water mark since im just doing stop motion, depends on how my stock goes  ) Either way I will show her off, probably sighting down her bow or something when finished.

I also will be making houses, trees, plants and monsters with zbrush, any suggestions on the zsphere tools to use?

sometimes it happens, other times it dont, looks like I have no choice but to use an external app for battler posing. Ah well. Least i can model them in such an easy and intuitive application.

Well Honey told ya

Can you post this ztool, so I can look at it. I’ve been posing zspheres awhile now and you are having something unique, so I’m pretty sure it’s not a zsphere issue.

ztool? Not sure what you mean, if you mean the file for that version of my archer then I deleted it long ago, and have a much better version anyways. I found a work around it tho i cant seem pose more than one pose at a time before having to switch back or it reverts to unedited form so I will probably use an externap prog. Sorrry Jason, but It happens with all fresh zsphere models. Sometimes i need to delete and restore the poly storemt, other times I dont, and cage sometimes helps.

I honestly didnt expect anyone to revie this thread. Maybe its a windows thing, who knows.

not sure if this can help, but I ran into this tutorial yesterday. maybe it’s what’s happening to your model?

Insanity, it really sounds like you are doing some very wacky steps instead of something simple. Or your system is messing with you, perhaps your graphics card? When you save your zsphere object it is called a ztool, you have gone through all the Help tuts haven’t you? I mean I’ve used a 500MHz G4 Cube with a 16MB graphics card and 1.75GB RAM in the past just to see how much Zbrush can do on low end systems and never had that. That said it was OS X, not Windows, but still…

Either way, get one of your initial zsphere setups to me, what ever one is messing up so I can help you. This should be simple, quick and fun as long as you follow some basic rules explicitly explained by several people on the zsphere thread.

lol, thats my own tutorial, read the final word on it and the text above the link.“Tutorials by Insanity” “~~Insanity” points to name then points to where it is on my sig I even refer to myself as “your big sister Insanity” so that the reader knows im a lady. Thanks for trying, it is appriciated.

Jason: the problem is I dont have one of my inital first ztools, I deleted it and emptied my bin. Sorry, Once the newer one proved so much better then thats what I did. If you read the tutorial that scubs8600 so thoughtfully posted you will see my “fix” isnt hard, and is really very basic and fun. Apparently you might be thinking, way back in a corner of your mind, that a woman tries to make things harder for herself when she doesnt need to. Its ok, I’m used to it. But my fix isnt hard, and I had loads of fun learning how to prevent it too.

Oh yeah, Mac and Win are as different as a cat and dog. Your system is vastly different than mine.

Insanity, my dear, you need some more Red Bull.

Your fix only applies to files with the issue your mentioning, and if you don’t have a file to share, it’s hard to understand.

I would rather ensure you are doing things correctly so that you get the most out of Zbrush as a tool at least in an area that is so dear to many Zbrush users. Your little tut seems to have unnecessary instructions.

Make zshere character, store morph, move to Preview mode sculpt. Set Max levels if you like under Adaptive, but don’t touch that again. To go up and down levels use the tabs under Geometry. Going back and forth from zsphere to preview once this is done should not cause any issues. If it does, it is a system issue, not Zbrush.

doh! :o

sorry about deleting the file, if you coulda answered well before you did then I woulda been happy to upload the file but its long gone, flushed down the digital drain of my hard drive. The newer version is so much better, and nearly complete too  decided not to use zbrush for the posing (when i move the elbows she reverts to unedited for some odd reason pehaps its the elbow cap spheres) By the way, do I need to uv her to use an external posing program? If so then how high of a poly res should I use to make it look effective?

cdubs8600: it happens to the best of us

Insanity

I just found this old solution to the first problem of yours -

http://www.zbrushcentral.com/zbc/showthread.php?t=16887

You wont find a better soultion though prevention is better then cure.

My apologies for not posting soon enough, it’s hard to catch all the threads and keep up some times. I’m old, lots of grey and many, many years with wonderful chemicals. Posing usually doesn’t require a uv map, it is usually for textures.
