I'm having trouble with a boolean/remesh operation… please help!

Aloha ZBC,

ok, I got this to work before and am unable to recreate what I did and am on a deadline to get this tray done, any help is appreciated.

So I am trying to subtract the “half egg” looking subtool from the larger tray sub tool. I have set egg sub tool to “subtract” in the sub tool pallet but when I remesh it, it does not subtract the half eggs from the tray.

I’ve tried every possible combo I can think of, but is there a layering order I am not following? Should the eggs be on top of the sub tools to do this? Do the eggs or tray need to be selected when I perform the remesh? Please enlighten me, what I am missing. I did it last night but can not recreate the operation.

Thanks in advance for your knowledge.

Keep the egg shapes with less polycount then the original object. You can dynamesh your egg shapes with less resolution than the Mesh you want to cut on. Or you can try Zremesher too. They have round shape so would be good too. Then do your subtractive boolean operation.
Remember the object you want to cut must be a dynamesh object.

Thank you, that worked. I did not have Dynamesh turned on.

Aloha,
