IM brush to drop on canvas?

Hi,

I was following a tutorial on creating a tileable texture by droping objects onto the canvas like in this tutorial:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rNgs2DcAsF4

In his tutorial he uses only one brick that he keeps turning to get different results. I wanted to do the same thing but with an insert multi mesh brush made up of different bricks but I don’t get to used that when I’m not in edit mode.

Is there a way to use the Multi insert mesh brush to drop different objects onto canvas?

Thanks

The only way would be to use a plane in Edit mode and add the bricks to that. You would then need to drop the plane before creating the tileable background.

Otherwise you could convert the IMM bricks you want to use to subtools using the Tool>Geometry>Modify Topology>Mesh From Brush button.

Nice! It’s working perfectly.

Now that I started working that way, I’ve got another question. When I drop an object and use the W key to move the object around, it’s only moving in local, not world. Is there a way I can move and rotate in world space?

Thanks for the help!

Do you have this yet?>> http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthread.php?161588-quot-Axis-quot-Plugin-for-ZBrush-4r2 There is no real world space like other 3D apps, it can be moved in and out on the z axis. You have to experiment. While in edit mode you can move it relative to other subtools from the deformation panel.

It’s not very intuitive but the deformation panel should do the trick for now.

Thanks.
