Congratulations on making top row! This is one of the most beautiful works here.

Umm… wait. It hasn’t made top row… Don’t know why not though.

Congrats on that scene! Almost looks like something that should be used in a movie!

I can just concur, congrats to your scene, Totally mindblowing and really great compositions!:+1:
Would be awesome if you could tell a little more of you workflow and your process with these beautiful artworks!
Keep it going:)

Hi All,

A New render and a C/U of the Final, Final image as well as some BPR renders.

As a Breakdown of the image all objects bar the plants and river weeds are sculpted in Zbrush and the final image is a clean render out of Vray no post-work (except for the droplets on the leaves that i added in Photoshop)

In so far as my process/workflow - the best thing i can say is research and plan.
I always like to start with sketching - pen on paper - before I turn the Comp on.
I figure out the pose framing and light on paper first ( Comes from years as a Storyboard artist for Film/TV - Action sequence designer on 3 seasons of Farscape being a highlight )
Then I open up Zbrush and everything usual changes along the way - nothing like rotating around a sculpt to find a frame/shadows and points of interest ,but i usual only sculpt whats necessary as it’s only ever for an image.
So have a plan then Play.

I hope You enjoy the behind the scenes pics

All the best and Thanks for the past kind words guys

D.

WHY IS THIS NOT TOP ROW? Sorry, didn’t mean to yell…

Thanks for sharing your workflow - really enjoying this piece!!! TOP ROW for sure!

@Voodoodad, Mh maybe because it is not good enoughe.

@deckard01

The idea is very interesting, and i think with some more tweaks and some technique improvement you can get a better result.

  1. The overall problem is that your character looks much too clean, much too dolly like. This effect is caused by the following misstakes:
  • Try to get more particles on the watersurface like dirt or leafes.
  • The girl is not causing any beievable wafes. The freuence and wafeamplitude ain’t realistic.Looks like a brush with same periodcount applied again and again.
  1. The girl is looking to plastic-like. Deeper skinpores arround the neck will stop the raindrops a bit especially little hairs. You should think of that as well.
overall it is really hard to write comments here on zbc, impossible that the typing panel reacts that slow on a workstation and when i try to use arrow keys im thrown out… srsly

so excuse my difficult critique… b2t. also you ahve big shader issues. the skin shader should also have a bit more tweaked. Actually you would not expect the skincolor shining through water so redly. everything isj sut much to clean like you used basic shaders and rendered it in poser. Apply more “renderpower”

arf impossible to write here… if ppl got same problems or know how to fix it… im kinda disappointed about this quality on zbc.

Thank-you for your critique -some i agree with, some i dont.

Hi D, My keyboard works just fine  and your work rocks, always a pleasure to visit this thread! Cheers, David

the final render of the girl in the water is beautiful, it is a very powerful composition … i have taken the time to look at it, and it has generated very deep emotions within me …
i love the quality and the subtlety of the way she deals with her loss … bravo
the only critic i would think about eventually is the regularity of the water droplets

the last picture is fine too, strong sense of fantasy, the girl looks very focused

Minor tweaks,

Enjoy

Wow! I mean WOW!

Fantastic.

:+1:

Simply amazing work. You have a gifted eye for detail and ability to express/convey strong emotion in your art. It’s rare for people to have that. Thank you for sharing.

Last one for the Weekend.

Enjoy

Deckard; wonderful work on both sculpts. But about the elf, no high heels? Sorry… sorry… I’m American and apparently we’re all fixated on high heels. Beautiful work!

Sorry voodoodad,

If you frame down there’s a nice pair of Jimmy choo shoes from the 2012 Haute Coutre elven collection.

Ha Ha
