i think i found a bug with morph targets

I think i found a bug ? in zbrush 4r6 P2 on os x (10.9.4)

i´m not sure if i post to the right thread category - please forgive me if so.

morph target:

• i take a plane
• mask it and the do a polygrouping by mask with polished slider to 1
• i hide the other polygroup
• delete hidden
• then i store a morph target
• i use the transpose line and move it to get volume
• then i click create morph target and switch to that new subtool

sometimes theres a mask stored which can not be cleared by clear mask

i found a workaround:

i make only one polyground of that new object visible and mask a bit of it.

then i show all polygroups, reverse the mask and then i am able to properly clear the
mask

hope that helps

It seems like morph targets have issues when there are differences in topology. Just wondering why you would store a morph target and add volume after? Doesn’t make sense to me.

hi and thank you for your respond. maybe i didn´t express myself well in the first post.

i´m well aware that i can do this kind of extrusions with other workflows like panel loops,
retopo etc.
here are some screenshots that describes the problem a little bit clearer.

after creating a morph target there´s a mask that can’t be cleared via the normal way.

and it gets visible after you invert the mask.

just selecting / making visible one polygroup - masking a part - then inverting - showing all
polygroups again and then clearing the mask solves that problem.

i´m no noob with zbrush at all - all i can imagine is that this must be a bug ?

kind regards

cosmic
