I often loose my tool's world space coordinates when re-topologizing [Answered]

This isn’t so much of a question as a request. When a mesh is selected for re-topology, could it adopt the export settings of the original tool to preserve the models place in world space? As it is in 4R2, when you export an OBJ for baking from the adaptive skin, its translations are reset to 0,0,0. I have found this to be frustrating, especially since the whole point behind re-topology is to ensure the low poly mesh is in perfect alignment for projecting. Hate to complain since the re-topology in 4R2 is a lot easier on the eyes. But I think the process would be a lot easier for artists if we didn’t have to work around this issue.

Thanks,

There’s got to be a work around to get the coordinates locked again for export. I’ll look into this later, when I have more time.

When exporting anything coming from zspheres , under export menu scale is set to 0.
This caused a lot of problems to me. I can’t really understand it. It was a PITA when beta testing sculptris too. GoZ was in trouble.

I’ve uploaded a small plugin that will help with this here: Scale Offset Copy/Paste

Thanks Marcus! :):+1:
