I need meat!

I’ve always wanted to start a model from a skeleton and work muscle by muscle out to the final surface. So I took a few hours tonight to get a Ztool made that will serve as a starting point for just such an endeavor. Well, I figured if I was so excited to try it that maybe some of you might also want to give it a shot, unfortunately I don’t have a way to link to the file, as it is too large for the upload limit on this forum. It is 7.13 MB in zip format. If there is someone out there who wants to have me email it to them and they can post it on an external link, give me a reply and we’ll talk. Or maybe there is someplace that has free web space that I can place it??? Any suggestions would be great…I would love to see what others can do with this.

Here’s some sample images of the set-up.

Hey thats not a half bad idea! And you might want to check out RapidShare or something like that, if im right you should be able to upload your file there

wow the skin mesh looks so great! could be kewl if u share

Yes, great idea thanks for posting.

sounds familiar, hehehe

I’ve done this before and it’s a great way of learning, but at some point you’ll have to lose the skeleton when you start posing…or to keep the poly count down ;):+1:

Shumway,

Looking good so far.

You can also take an Écorché class if you live near an art school that offers one, mine did in Philly. It is a classic sculpting class (using good old fashioned clay) doing exactly what you are planning on, you start sculpting the skeleton, every muscle group & then finish by skinning it, the best way to learn anatomy. Install zbrush on your laptop & bring it to class!

If you find a place to post it please let me know, I am interested giving it a try.

Well I’ve found a place to host the file. Here’s the link to the .ztl file:

Here’s a couple more shots some of the preliminary work I’m doing.

I always loved this image from an old X-Men comic I’ve had since I was a kid. Thought it would be fun to try to build it. This is just a quick sketch that I did this evening. I am trying to get better at the muscle groups.

Is there a limit to how many sub-tools a tool can have?
