I have some z3 questions

Hi

I have some z3 questions. I looked through the documents for my answers first.

1—lazymouse. Is this a brush? Or a feature? Is it auto started or do I need to start it? I can’t seem to find it

2—polypainting I realize it only works with zbrushes uvs. And if I want to uv my model and paint on them I still need to use projection master. But listed here http://www.zbrush.info/wiki/index.php/Polypainting

It states “Working without UVs will allow you to use more polygons and get more detail out of your model. Whenever possible, delete your UVs from your ZBrush model. You can always re import them at the end of the process.”

So is there away to poly paint and transfer it to my unwrapped uvs I made in another program?

3—by passing the start up screen. Where you choose a sphere or model. I read all there was to read. About this. And made a new start document. And had zbrush by passing this screen loading up the way I wanted. Then I rebooted my pc. And now cannot get it to do it again. I have to choose at the boot screen

  1. “L” key toggles lazymouse on/off or you can find it in the stroke menu.

  2. You can import your UV’s by going to the lowest level and re-importing your Obj with your UV’s or by uv mapping before you import it initially, then goto col>txr with Mrgb as usual to grab your polypainting to the new texture

  3. Have seen a setting in to bypass welcome screen but heard it can cause problems, use at your own risk!!

Q: I disabled the Welcome screen in the Preference Palette and saved my custom configurations custom UI, now ZBrush 3 will not run properly.
A: Do not disable the Welcome screen. To restore default UI, delete the CustomUserInterface.cfg from your ZBrush folder.

Your help is very much appreciated. I have poly paint working now thanks to.

But a problem has occurred. When I press col>txr it makes a scrambled in some area texture.
The uvs are not scrambled. Ah well I’ll mess with it and post pics of the problem in a few.
