I have a problem with polypainting

When I attempt to polypaint, my brushes make squares… I’d say I best just link a picture because it’s hard to describe.

What on earth causes this?

In zbrush 3.1 and 3.5 this doesn’t happen to me, I’ve reinstalled 4 three times now and there is no improvement. This issue doesn’t seem to extend to 3D models, which I am able to edit without display issues.

Any help is very welcomed.

select a soft alpha, probaply.

Only alpha 01 seems to work as expected. All other alphas (or lack there of ) have the pattern shown above.

How can I get my strokes back to being smooth graduations instead of this “Stutter” we see in the picture above?

Hm, last reply gave me a “Thread not found”" error.

Anyway, the problem does go away when I use alpha 01 which is the softened circle alpha. The other alpha present the same problem of seemingly “Stuttering” instead of providing a smooth flow and odd are “see through” to the squares under it, as seen in the picture, or stars, or spirals, whatever alpha I use aside from 01.

So as you can see, it’s like the brushes are coming out unevenly and it also seems like they’re transparent somehow?

Try bringing your z intensity all the way up and play around with the focal shift. Start with focal shift at zero and go slightly into the negative direction.

Thanks!

That is exactly what I needed.
