i couldn't find a post new thread button in the image plane section

Hi,

I bought zbrush 4r6 yesterday and i’m having problems with the following:

1- my stored view for the image plane keeps changing or switching by itself without me clicking store view or all so that i would be working on my mesh over my image plane trying to match my character to the stored view of my design and suddenly the view changes and my mesh or character doesn’t match the view anymore.

in addition i noticed this happens as well when i try to delete a subtool in my mesh(tool)

2- couldn’t load an OBJ file using load tool in zbrush after i placed the OBJ file in the projects folder

i know this second question had nothing to do with image planes but i thought maybe i should mention it too

i really appreciate your help. Thank you

Windows or Mac? http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthread.php?9095-NEWBIE-LESSON-ONE-The-Interface

To answer your second question first, to load an OBJ, go to ‘Tool’ menu and click ‘Import’.

As to the first question, there are now better options for setting up reference images in ZBrush 4R6. See Reference Images. In particular, the Grids section.

That thread was created in 2002. I should think that a lot of what’s in there might now be irrelevant.

First couple sentences say a lot…The links could be fixed, the horse isn’t dead. AND at the bottom of my post is a link to the docs. People could find stuff if they searched, reading docs and experimenting can truly accomplish quite a bit as well.

macbook pro, snow leopard operating system

i did go to tolls import . thanks for the reference images link i will check it right away

some of us do not have all the time in the world or the mood to tolerate sarcastic people

Yet you had the time to quote me and call me sarcastic without even thanking me for the links. Have a great day…

An analogy if I may. A car or truck with a manual gearbox and clutch mechanism hasn’t changed too much in basic operation since being designed and placed in general use; There are more control knobs and maybe air conditioning, but the clutch still needs to be pushed in to get it in gear. So it is still relevant. Broken links and no pics do little to help my cause.
