I can't smooth open edges, even with the proper settinsg in Smooth Brush Modifiers

I can’t seem to smooth open edges even with the “Min Connected Points to Smooth” set to 1 in the Smooth Brush Modifiers.

Is there something I’m missing? or is this a bug?

You have to hold the Shift key down while you adjust the min connected slider in the Smooth Brush Modifiers panel.

You can also check that basic edge smoothing works by choosing a cloth brush and then smoothing. Cloth brushes have min connected set to 1 automatically for smoothing.
