Mkay, so, I just created my first model in ZBrush, then saved it. Problem is, I saved it as a document instead of a tool, an now I can’t figure out how to access it. After searching everywhere, I finally found “ZBrush Document”. I assume that this is my untitled model. So I try to open it, but it says it doesn’t know what program to open it with. I tried selecting ZBrush to open it with, but that didn’t work. Any way I can get my poor model back?
To load a document you would use Document>Load.
This won’t work for models, though. A document is a 2.5D picture of the canvas. It lacks the 3D data of a full model. To save your model you should use Tool>Save As and then to load it later you would use Tool>Load.
Better yet, use SubTool Master (available from the Download Center). This plugin has its own Save button that has some special routines to protect your work from possible corruption. It also has a ton of features to make working with models a breeze.
