When I watch a film that had the help of zbrush used in it at some point, what exactly was it being used for? I read “zbrush in the industry” on this site, but can’t seem to figure out where exactly zbrush would be used in a film like Lord of the Rings and Avatar. Are zbrush models animatable so you could take that model and throw it right into a film? are zbrush models simply static 3d images that are used in posters and advertising and such? Or is it something else? Hope to hear from the community on this one.

There’s a lot of good info for you!
Ounce you create a 3D model it can be exported and animated by other programs. In a way ZB is like any other 3D modeler. The nice thing about ZBrush is that it has a real feel and create life like characters that would be practically impossible with other conventional 3D modelers.
