I AM Number 4

Niiiiice.

Hi Patton! Thanks for sharing your amazing creatures!
Especially the final pose of the first creature, she’s remind me a vampire bat really looks alive!
Looking forward to see them in the movie

great stuff…

you say you started in zb, did you just block out with zspheres or did you use another method.?

Fantastic! I hope the moderators take this Top Row, since it represents professional movie work using Zbrush. :+1:

Is this you? Scott Patton, worked on Avatar? http://arttalk.ru/articles/content/interview-with-concept-artist-avatar-scott-patton-eng

Great concepts and models

Nice work. I really like the more raptor like one. The, “flying squirrel,” is cool too. Love the head.

Awesome models and designs! I abosolutely love the design of the head on the flying squirrel model, especially the lower left view of the head, brilliant shape
If I may say so, I think the raptor one could benefit from a better render, looks a bit dull compared to the flying squirrel one

Can I ask what your process is for creating a creature like this? Do you start with zspheres, or a base from another modeling app?

Again sweet models, hope we are gonna see more frequent posts from you

nice design ,like the head so much, looking forward to see them in movie and thanks you for sharing:D

nice creature designs! I like that flying squirrel idea a lot.

WOW! amazing design!!!

Hey Guys Thanks for the kind words!!

Pynion: Thanks for the photos ???

anytime

Fantastic design!! I especially like the front and three quarter views of this baby; feels very fresh. The sharp triangular shape of the bone there is something I haven’t seen before and works extremely well in a beautifully aggressive way.

In my opinion originality and successful design, as shown here, should be rewarded with top row spots. This is the type of work people should study to get a better feel for aesthetics and form.

Absolutely love it!

Thanks Jelmer !

Top row is cool, but not the point, I just wanted to share some stuff after a long time gone.

I can`t get enough of creatures and WOW, this is really brilliant work!

Tho I have seen this…and much more on this show, I just wanted to toss in some praise. Awesome stuff as usual!

I know that I’m always the last one to discover new and interesing posts, but:
damn cool sculpt Scott!
My favorite is the model sheet of the Piken (1st pic), I think it’s even better than the full coloured concept designs because this clear-cut anatomy really shows through. I dig the muscular transition in the chest and shoulder area and the form of the Piken’s head, this forehead plate-kinda-thing…
Great work, thanks for sharing.

Cheers

“Top row is cool, but not the point, I just wanted to share some stuff after a long time gone.”

Really glad you took the time to post these up for everyone who didn’t have the opportunity to attend the gnomon gallery showing. Hope to see more of the stuff you’ve been banging out over the last couple years. It definitely inspires me (and im sure many, many others) to keep pushing ourselves as artists. “bro grabs”

i totally love the the overall design…especially the head!
well done ! inspiring for me!
