Hey all, it’s been a while since I posted any thing new, so I thought I would post something I did for “I am number 4”

These creatures were called the Piken, they were described as “Space Rapters” by Steven Spielberg,(producer) which I took literally at first and then worked my way to the flying squirrel look:).
They were designed in 3D using Zbrush without any 2D development, just a little photoshop sweetening and then turned over to ILM to be finalized and animated.

I have not seen the film but, I have heard that the final look remained fairly true to the design, that’s cool with me!

Hi Patton! Thanks for sharing your amazing creatures!
Especially the final pose of the first creature, she’s remind me a vampire bat really looks alive!

you say you started in zb, did you just block out with zspheres or did you use another method.?
