hi there ! as you can see , this is an attempt to make an human torso , i try to make it as muscular as i can , to spot where muscles are , and learn some more about anatomy , but here , i got a big problem: i can’t manipulate this model anymore , altrough i can " slide " around the model with the cusor , zbrush do not seems to modify the mesh according to my strokes , what could i do ??
anyway , as i’m quite a beginner in such things , any comments and critics you can make on this will help me a lot , crits welcooome

maybe you have a mask on by accident? Click view mask in the tools menu to see if you do. that’s happened to me before.

thanks , tryed that , but it does not seems to come frome here :frowning:

back home , i checked it again, and manipulating any mask option does NOT change anything.
the funny thing is that if i draw an object and then , place my torso tool on it , i can manipulate the torso as usual :o

what do you think about the sculpture anyway , suggestions ? critics ?? if it’s really bad , just tell me .

not bad at all, muscle groups are ok, only thing is those ribs, should be less vertical. keep it up :+1:

Hey!

first off…good job on teh torso.i can see that the muscles groups are present and are in proportion :+1:

The problem which i see with this model…is tat it doesnt quite follow the curvature of the “human” torso…but fear not…only a few movements will hopefuly change that.
I think u should slim down the lower part of teh abdominal muscles…decrease the waistline…hes looking “fat” and that doesnt follow any “gesture”…its extremely difficult to do that in zbrush with negligible reference…u should have a “V” shape present in the flow…

another thing i see is taht u SHOULD span out the back wings…the wings are big enough here to be seen from the front…so make them more spanned out

Also…(i just checked my anatomy)…the external upper obliques shouldnt be going that far back…that space in the back is taken up by the lattisimus dorsi…the muscle which joins in the back wing and folows right around the dies into the oblques…main point…reduce obliques and add maas to the lattisimus dorsi…i wish i could show u what i mean…but do a search on bodybuilders…as they habe the anatomy ur going for

plus…i think u should decrease his waist line :P…hes looking obese…but i think i hve said that alreasdy…

well…this is what i think…pretty small things tho…

CHECK UR ANATOMY!!! all along the way  just a few tweaks here and there…tehe model itself is very good:+1:

update us asap! :)

Your torso’s comming along quite nicely, keep at it.

I read that you where having probs unable to modify the mesh with your stokes. if it happens again check that you are not in smooth mode in your transform pallet, i’ve lost count of how many times I forget to turn off smooth & keep trying to do something & nothing seems to happen.

hi there , thanks a lot for the feedback :D:), i’ll modify the torso as soon as i go home ! it’s actually good to have some critics and directions to improve the work , because it’s easy to be lost  so thanks you all !

about the " sculpting problem"
well, i’m not im smooth mode , but as the background of the layer i work in is filled , there is no more problem to manipulate the model …??? strange problem really , i can work fine now anyway , but if somebody got a clue about where it comes from …

actualy , here is what i know about this problem:

 • the problem just affects the " tool " saved in the file , any other tool are completely ok , other saves , primitives , all.

 • when the background is filled , there is no problem , and the tool is workable as usual

 • clicking in any button of the mask options does not change anything

 • when i try to sculpt the tool , nothing happens , nevertheless , some areas are still reacting to strokes , even if they are far away from my pointer

i’m now modifying the model according to all the comments made.
posting updates asap .
thanks ,

daamn , my tablet is down :frowning:
and i can’t solve this problem !
so i’ll finish this one later , actually focusing on real sculptures .
this should give me more ability to make models in zb anyway .

i noticed all that was said on this model , so as not to make the same mistake in real sculptures

if somebody would have any idea about this “bug”…
